Thai FDA Participates in Shanghai Fair Healthcare Thailand 2026 Supporting Thailand's Vision to Medical Device Hub

The Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) participated in Shanghai Fair Healthcare Thailand 2026, held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 19–20 May 2026. The event provided an important platform to promote access to advanced medical technologies, foster strategic trade partnerships under the Health Silk Road Initiative, strengthen Thailand–China healthcare supply chain connectivity, and support Thailand's policy to become a regional Medical Hub in ASEAN.

          Dr. Roongruthai Mualprasitporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai Food and Drug Administration, stated that Thailand and the People's Republic of China have enjoyed a longstanding and close partnership in both diplomatic and economic relations. Shanghai Fair Healthcare Thailand 2026 serves as an international platform showcasing innovations in medical devices and healthcare technologies while facilitating supply chain integration and technology transfer between the two countries. As Thailand's national regulatory authority for health products, the Thai FDA is committed to providing regulatory guidance and technical support to facilitate efficient, transparent, and compliant market access. These efforts aim to ensure that healthcare products available to the public meet appropriate standards of quality, safety, and performance.

          Dr. Roongruthai further noted that the event represents another important milestone in strengthening cooperation and promoting trade and investment between Thailand, the People's Republic of China, and the Shanghai Municipality, particularly in the fields of medical devices, healthcare technologies, and medical innovation.
