Thai FDA Welcomes Delegation from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Exchanging Ideas and Policies on Health-Related Products

Thai FDA welcomed the delegation from Nigerian Government Agency, and the World Trader Trade Association (WTA), with the aim to extend relations, exchange information, and discuss policies on health-related products. The meeting was aimed to enhance opportunities for export routes of Thai health-related products to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Today (23 February 2024), Dr. Withid Sariddeechaikool, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration, and the executive team welcomed the delegation from government agencies under the Technical Committee on Comprehensive Import Supervision Scheme initiated by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The delegation comprises of representatives from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standard organization of Nigeria , Federal Ministry of Industry Trade & Investment, Federal Ministry of Finance, the Budget office of the federation, and the World Trader Trade Association (WTA). The meeting was formed to discuss and exchange information, ideas, and policies regarding health-related products.

Dr. Withid Sariddeechaikool, the Deputy Secretary-General, revealed that the Food and Drug Administration had introduced its roles, duties, and missions to the parties involved. This included information on the concepts for promoting entrepreneurs, and for developing a comprehensive consulting and incubating center for innovative health-related products. During the meeting, opinions were exchanged, and the process of extensive regulation health-related products – especially those that do not meet the standards – was also discussed. He also added that the discussion was a good opportunity to foster an understanding of the roles and responsibilities among the Thai FDA, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and the Standard organization of Nigeria. This has also served as an initiative to build relationship that would lead to more opportunities to export quality and standardized health-related products from Thailand to the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the future.
