Thai FDA Showcases the Strength of a Modern Public Sector Organization, Garnering Three Awards on the “Government Excellence Awards 2025” organized by the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), underscoring a commitment to improving management quality and public service.
Today (12 September 2025), at the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, Challenger Hall, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Dr. Surachoke Tangwiwat, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA), revealed that the FDA received three awards from the OPDC at the “Government Excellence Awards 2025”. The awards are as follow; 1) Public Sector Management Quality Award (PMQA) 4.0 — Significance level, which is the highest level, reflecting operations that are effective, innovative and deliver tangible results, 2) Public Service Award, Citizen-Centric category — Good level, for the development of a calculation tool for iodine fortification in edible salt and iodine-fortified seasoning products to reduce losses in the production process, and 3)Public Service Award, Digital Information Services category, for the Consumer Protection Information Service System, developed in collaboration with the Office of the Consumer Protection Board and three other agencies, demonstrating the agency’s attentiveness in leveraging technology for the greatest benefit of consumers and entrepreneurs.
These accolades bring the Thai FDA great pride and serve as an important encouragement to continue developing the organization on an ongoing basis. The Thai FDA stands ready to be a key partner in creating shared value with entrepreneurs and various sectors—safeguarding consumer safety while, at the same time, advancing the nation’s economy. In line with the organization’s vision: “ consumers are safe, prosperous entrepreneurs, and a sustainable Thai consumer protection system,” the Secretary-General concluded.
