The Thai FDA’s Drug E-Submission Service Center or DESS is established to facilitate and enhance efficiency on granting permission to the entrepreneurs. The Center operates during both official and unofficial working hours with the training room for the entrepreneurs’ capacity building. This initiative aims to benefit the public by enabling faster access to quality pharmaceutical products. 

On 13 June 2024, Dr. Withid Sariddeechaikool, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration disclosed to the reporters that for driving the country’s economy prosperously then the Thai FDA placed its policy on promoting the entrepreneurs and pushing the Thai health product into the global market. As a result, an E-Submission Service was developed to provide convenience to the entrepreneurs to make the business operation go smoothly and fast. Consequently, the FDA’s Drug E-Submission Service Center or DESS, locating on the 2nd Floor of the Building 4, was open to serve these entrepreneurs. The aim of DESS Center was to provide facilitation and enhance efficient service to the pharmaceutical entrepreneurs via E-Submission service on every process such as the submission of Drug Registration using ICH eCTD format, NeeS (ThaiRims system) and Skynet or RimPhar system. Moreover, this Center extends its services during unofficial working hours to accommodate the growing needs of entrepreneurs. This would result in the efficiency and fast service on granting the permission of pharmaceutical product. Apart from the outstanding service, the DESS Center was designed to be a likely-looking reception spot of FDA which always welcomed and made the entrepreneurs feel comfortable as if they were at their living rooms. The DESS Center also offered the training room for the entrepreneurs to strengthen their knowledge and capacity development. The training would be conducted via E-learning on the relevant topic of the preparation process on the Drug Submission and the application of E-Submission. This would provide the entrepreneurs with understanding and using the aforementioned system effectively.

The Deputy Secretary-General of FDA stated that the DESS Center was willing to give the quality service to the entrepreneurs and this remarked an important step of FDA’s performance development especially, the service development system to support the pharmaceutical  entrepreneurs. Finally, FDA highly hoped that the DESS Center would give the utmost benefits and satisfactions to the users.
