The Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) has launched an automated system for renewing food manufacturing and import licenses via the e-Submission platform, enabling entrepreneurs to submit renewal requests anytime, anywhere in the world. This initiative enhances convenience for entrepreneurs and elevates Thai food standards to the global level, in line with Thailand’s digital economy policy.
Mr. Lertchai Lertvut, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai FDA, announced that the Thai FDA has opened a new channel for automatic renewal of food manufacturing licenses and food import licenses. When applicants submit renewal requests and complete fee payments, the system will issue approvals automatically through the e-Submission platform. This automation aims to significantly improve convenience for entrepreneurs. In the initial phase, entrepreneurs with food manufacturing or import premises located in Bangkok can now use the automatic renewal system and print their licenses directly through e-Submission. Operators with facilities outside Bangkok will be able to access the system starting 5 January 2026.
Fast, convenient, and available anytime
Applicants may submit renewal requests and make payments from 1 January of the license expiration year until 31 December of the same year. Payments can be conveniently made via electronic channels such as mobile banking (Thai QR Payment / PromptPay) and internet banking. Food manufacturers and importers can print their renewed licenses directly from the e-Submission system. Automatic renewal is applicable only when:
1. There are no changes to the operator or license details, and
2. Valid GMP inspection results covering the authorized food categories.
For manufacturers using GMP assessment results from FDA-recognized inspection bodies, a request for verification of certificates must be submitted in advance.

The Deputy Secretary-General reaffirmed that the Thai FDA is committed to continuous digital transformation to enhance service efficiency through advanced technology. This initiative supports entrepreneurs in strengthening their competitiveness in the global market and aligns with national policies that drive the digital economy. It also reinforces confidence in the standards of Thai food products worldwide an essential foundation for improving quality of life and promoting Thailand’s long-term vision of becoming a sustainable “Kitchen of the World.”
