The Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) is advancing health product literacy among young people by strengthening the capacity of Oryor Noi teachers in Bangkok to create digital health media using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques on the Canva platform. This initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of consumer protection communication and build health resilience among Thai youth, helping keep them away from non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Ms. Supattra Boonserm, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration revealed that the Thai FDA places great importance on health promotion among youth, as this is a key foundation for improving people’s quality of life in the long term. The work is being carried out under the Ministry of Public Health’s policy, “Health Literacy for Better Quality of Life,” and the Thai FDA’s policy of “Protecting the Health of Thai People at Every Stage of Life,” through the Oryor Noi School Program, which has been implemented continuously and robustly for more than 20 years with the cooperation of Oryor Noi teachers nationwide.

For fiscal year 2026, the Thai FDA has expanded the Oryor Noi School Program in Bangkok, with a focus on enhancing the capacity of Oryor Noi teachers to produce educational media on health products and NCD prevention that is aligned with today’s digital society. More than 200 Oryor Noi teachers from Bangkok joined the skills development program on “Producing Health Product Literacy Media Using AI Techniques,” an important skill in the modern era. This helps make health media more engaging, easier to understand, and better suited to the information consumption behaviors of today’s youth and the public, while also enabling practical application in both schools and communities.

The Secretary-General added that Oryor Noi teachers are at the heart of the Oryor Noi School Program. Strengthening their skills through this initiative will enhance their ability to communicate knowledge on health products in ways that are creative, modern, and accessible to young people. This, in turn, will support the expansion of the Oryor Noi School Program in Bangkok and help nurture Thai youth to become digitally literate citizens who are informed, well-rounded, discerning, and able to live safely.
