Thai FDA Welcomes USDA and USDEC for Discussion on Dairy Product Import Requirements Enhancing Mutual Understanding, Standards and Safety

The Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) held a meeting with representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the U.S. Embassy in Thailand and the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) to exchange information on quality and safety standards and import requirements for dairy products. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views and enhance mutual understanding between Thailand and the United States.

On 26 August 2026, Dr. Pichet Puedkuntod, Deputy Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration, welcomed Ms. Maria Rakhovskaya, Regional Agricultural Attaché, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Embassy in Thailand, and Mr. Jonathan Gardner, Senior Vice President – Market Access and Regulatory Affairs, U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC), on the occasion of their courtesy visit and meeting with the Thai FDA.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged information on the criteria and requirements related to the importation of dairy products, excluding import quotas and requirements under other laws. The Thai FDA also heard views, concerns, and issues of interest to the U.S. dairy industry. The discussion aimed to foster mutual understanding between the Thai regulatory authority and the U.S. industry and to support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
