Phru Thai Subdistrict, known for its longkong and durian orchards, has embraced Thai beekeeping as a vital income supplement. This initiative is especially crucial for rubber farmers during the off-tapping season when their primary income source halts.

Beekeeping not only provides an alternative revenue stream but also enhances crop production for local plants like oil palm, rubber, and various fruits. Each farmer manages their own beehives, placing them on their land or relatives' property where food sources are optimal for the bees. The harvested products are sold as honey and fresh honeycomb.
