The Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) deepens collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand–China diplomatic relations, engaging in discussions on regulations related to the import and export of health products and the Regulation of food sold in retail outlets. The meeting aimed to establish harmonized operational standards to support international trade and ensure that consumers in both countries have access to quality and safe health products.

On 5th November 2025, at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand,
Ms. Supattra Boonserm, Secretary-General of the Thai FDA, together with senior FDA executives, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Jiang Wei, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and his team to discuss advancing import–export activities in line with government policy. The meeting was held under the cooperation framework commemorating the 50th anniversary of Thailand–China relations, highlighting China’s position as one of Thailand’s most important trading partners and a leading exporter of health products to the Thai market. Discussions focused on creating a shared understanding and standardizing regulatory collaboration, particularly regarding challenges related to the import of fruits and vegetables into Thailand, the export of Thai health products to China, and the oversight of Chinese health products sold in Thailand without authorization.

The Secretary-General emphasized that the Thai FDA continues to expand its cooperation with Chinese regulatory agencies to improve the quality and strengthen the regulatory standards of health products. She also expressed support for advancing Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) as part of the ongoing effort to drive forward future medical innovations. She concluded by reaffirming that Thailand and China share a common goal: ensuring that people in both countries have access to safe, high-quality, and effective health products. The two parties will continue to collaborate across all areas to enhance the regulatory system governing the import and export of health products. Consumers can therefore have confidence and trust in the health products of both nations.
